This course is designed to get our ‘home bakers’ to ‘cake boss’ status in 5 days.

You will work on three cakes during the course:

•  A safari themed two tier cake
• Drip cake
• Buttercream Unicorn themed cake.

You will learn –

• The basics of baking a perfect cake, including recipes and tips and tricks.
• Icing cakes with buttercream, covering with fondant, basic stacking and dowelling and stacking tiered cakes.
• How to make a perfect/stable buttercream frosting as well as various piping techniques.
• How to work with sugar paste, making figurines and cake décor.
• Working with chocolate ganache to make a perfect drip cake.
• How to market your new baking business.

This course is suitable for beginners with a basic knowledge of baking (home baker) looking to expand their knowledge and skills.

All equipment will be supplied, learners are asked to bring aprons.

Date – June 26-30 9:00 am – 3:00pm.

Venue – TBC (Edenvale/Bedfordview area)

Price – R6000 (includes light lunch and refreshments daily)

Certificate – On completion, each student will be given a Sugarbear Baking School certificate.
